From the Editor:

Where there is will-power, there is passion ; Where there is passion, there is purpose; and where there is purpose, there are results.

As a senior in college, this is a phrase that I use to guide me toward my degree in journalism. Personally, I am someone who does not like to remain in a static position in life, but I’ve learned that if you can just find what you are passionate about, if you can just find your purpose, then that is what makes all of the hard work worth while.

I began my journalism journey as an undergrad  at Indiana University, where I’ve written for the National Association of Black Journalists. I attended Indiana University for two years before transferring to IUPUI in Indianapolis, where I am currently, and thankfully, starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Why Journalism?

Some may have their doubts about journalism, and it’s abilities to survive in a digital era, but journalism has proven time and time again its adaptation skills. And there is no better feeling than being able to be a voice for the voiceless.

I enjoy journalism, because it allows me to tell the stories that have never been spoken, to connect and learn about people I wouldn’t otherwise had the opportunity to.

With that being said, I truly hope you enjoy this blog and find helpful!

With the Greatest Regards,

Shekinah Ragland.
