After a long week, all I want to do is relax and pamper myself without breaking into my makeshift piggy bank. And if I’m being honest, I’ve definitely been having a lot of long weeks lately ( but all the more reason to have a spa day though, so I’m not complaining too much about it).
Being a former college student has helped me come up with some alternate, money-saving ways of having a spa day, but without actually going to the spa. My mom, sisters, and I used to have a night set out to rejuvenate our skin, and it was always a great way to catch up and spend time with each other.
So here are some tips and tricks that I’ve learned over the years to achieve that spa feeling without spending that spa $$$:
There a facial mask made for almost all of your skin care desires out there! My favorite go to mask is the Yes To® Grapefruit Vitamin C Glow Boosting Paper Mask. It’s a super hydrating mask that replenishes your skin with vitamin C, which gives you that glow effect. You can typically find these face mask at your local Target, Wal-Mart, or convenience store.
Your Favorite Scent:
Lavender, chamomile, and vanilla are three scents that naturally relax you. You can find candles with these smells at your local Target or Wal-Mart, but you can also just light up your favorite scented candle as well. My favorite smell depends on which season we’re in, and right now it’s currently Signature Soy™ Sea Blossom. I found this 4 oz. gem last year at my local Target for less than $5 dollars.
I don’t know about you, but having my favorite nail polish on, improves my mood by a long-shot! I always buy Sinful Colors nail polish, because not only are they extremely affordable ($1.99 ladies, you’re welcome), but they have such an incredible quality to them! This nail polish will have you looking like you spent good money at a nail salon, and the best part is, you paid less than $2 dollars to get it!
Snacks & Tunes:
Is a spa day really a spa day without snacks and tunes? One could definitely argue that it isn’t LOL. Just grab some of your favorite snacks, pop on some of your favorite playlist and you’ve got yourself your very own homemade spa, girl!

(Beauty Tip: Wrap your feet in a warm towel fresh from the dryer, or a hot damp rag to help relax the muscles in and around that area. We create stress on our joints everyday, so it’s always good to give it some relieve when you can. )
